SUSTAINABILITY

At Docusign, our goal is to promote environmental sustainability across our global business, including our operations, sourcing practices, and products. We are committed to being more environmentally friendly—from enabling paperless processes for our customers to investing in organizations that are making a sustainable impact. Each of us has a role to play by making small changes in our daily behaviors to mitigate the effects of climate change and preserve our environment.

As part of our ongoing commitments, Docusign has been certified as carbon neutral annually since 2022. We are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and have set science-based targets in alignment with the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) to guide our efforts. Our goal is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. To support this commitment, we are actively working toward powering 100% of our operations and data centers with renewable energy.

Sustainability has been integral to the Docusign story from the beginning. Our core eSignature product alone has replaced billions of pieces of paper, along with the associated wood, waste, water, and carbon. We continue to promote environmental sustainability globally and support our customers in achieving their own sustainability goals.

As a company, we are committed to helping organizations realize productivity and efficiency gains through agreements, while reducing their environmental impact. For the past 20 years, we have helped millions of organizations replace paper with digital processes which supported them in their digital transformation and sustainability goals. As we expand our offerings in intelligent agreement management, Docusign is committed to supporting our customers with solutions that enable environmental and social impact goals.

Docusign.org is how we bring the strength of our products, people, and resources together to create stronger communities and a more sustainable planet. In 2018, we began to expand our commitment to social impact when we committed to donating at least $30 million in cash or stock, over the next 10 years, to the Docusign Foundation (formerly called DocuSign IMPACT). Since then, we’ve built strong employee engagement programs, a strategic approach to grantmaking, and a new focus within our impact strategy that drives efficiencies for nonprofits through our products.

Docusign for Nonprofits: We support thousands of nonprofit organizations with the opportunity to use our products for free or at a discount every year. Docusign solutions help accelerate key business processes for nonprofits, freeing up resources so they can focus on their mission and serving their communities.

Docusign Impact: We believe in promoting a culture of giving back and community support throughout our organization. Through Docusign Impact, we encourage our employees to take action in their own communities by volunteering and are proud to support their efforts by providing up to 24 hours of paid time off a year for volunteering. Our employees have volunteered over 100,000 hours collectively. Additionally, we match funds donated by our employees to qualifying nonprofits.

Docusign Foundation: Our corporate philanthropy program enables climate action, ecosystem protection, and local impact through grant funding. To date, we have partnered with organizations including the Forest Stewardship Council, Jane Goodall Legacy Foundation, Rainforest Trust and The Nature Conservancy to name just a few.

  • Compliance – Docusign’s compliance program consists of third-party audits and self-assessments to attain and maintain compliance with global certifications and standards.
